Boogie the Riding Longhorn Steer

Boogie, our remarkable riding longhorn, stands as a truly unique and cherished member of our ranch. He is a six year-old registered Longhorn steer that is one of very few that you care ride like a horse. He is still in his youth, so we work with him regularly. He is very intelligent, gentle and loves to be rubbed and scratched, especially behind his ears and brisket (chest). He got the name Boogie because everything he does is S-L-O-W. Sometimes he just needs to “Boogie”. His best friend is another Longhorn steer named “Gus”, who is one year older than Boogie.

In a country where such creatures are rare companions, Boogie’s gentle demeanor and cooperative spirit make him a standout presence. His massive yet docile frame carries a history written in every hoof print, showcasing the special bond we’ve cultivated. 

Riding him is not just an activity; it‘s a testament to the extraordinary connection between humans and these majestic creatures.
